I was just reading Ode 2 and i had a hard time understanding it. If someone had a smarter way to try to understand the reading easier, that would be great.

this story is really interesting, but why does Ismene say that she helped bury him rather than just defending Antigone from the side?

I really do understand the full meaning of this story so far! I love reading it!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think that it was VERY brave of Antigone to burry her brother because she had to and it was the right thing to do. I probably would have done the same thing it that was my brother.

to alyssa- Ismene said she helped bury her brother because she thought that Creon wouldn't make him kill Antigone if both of them helped. He wouldn't want to kill both of his relatives.

Ismene told Creon that she helped bury him because she was against her sister from the start. Now she wants fogivness so she is trying to "take the hit" for Antigone thinking that Antigone will forgive her when she really doesnt get forgiven.
